David de Gea reluctant to extend his stay at Manchester United

While Manchester United are desperate to extend David de Gea's stay at Old Trafford, it seems the Spanish international is less keen.
It is being reported by The Telegraph that Jose Mourinho's No 1 is reluctant to sign a new long-term contract.
After seeing his dream move to Real Madrid fall through back in 2015, the 27-year-old signed a four-year deal with United.
It is believed that Mourinho met with De Gea's agent, Jorge Mendes, last Friday but they were unable to make a deal.
De Gea and Manchester United
Despite a shaky start to his tenure at Old Trafford, the former Atletico Madrid keeper has only gone from strength to strength.
Signed by Sir Alex Ferguson in 2011, De Gea led United to the Premier League title in his debut season.
Since then, he has lifted the FA Cup, League Cup and the Europa League on one occasion.
De Gea has also been named United's Players' Player of the Year in four of the last five seasons.
Arguably the best goalkeeper on the planet, he picked up last years Premier League Golden Glove.
For a player who turns 28 next month, the Spaniard is looking to secure more major honours.
Given United's slow start to the season, their No 1 has some questions over if United are the club to get him those trophies.
While a move to the Spanish capital may now be unlikely, there will certainly be a long list of takers should De Dea be looking to end his seven-year stay.
Manchester United's slow start
Although United may have come back against Newcastle, it doesn't cover what has been a poor start to the season.
After eight games, the Reds are already seven points adrift of the top of the table.
Their 14 goals conceded also means no side in the top half of the table holds a worse defensive record.
After the international break, United face an incredibly tough run of games.
Mourinho's men take on his old side Chelsea, Manchester City, and Juventus.
If United are to convince their standout performer to stay, they must compete against the European elite.
