St Mirren boss Oran Kearney is set to be boosted by the return of Adam Hammill and Danny Mullen ahead of Saturday’s visit of Kilmarnock.
It was feared former Liverpool, Dunfermline and Barnsley winger Hammill would be ruled out for up to three months after injuring his shoulder against Aberdeen but he has made a remarkable recovery, while Mullen is back after a month out with a broken finger.
Kyle Magennis is also nearing a return to action and could face St Johnstone next week but Adam Eckersley, Gary MacKenzie (both Achilles) and Danny Rogers (knee) remain out, while loanees Nicolai Brock-Madsen and Hayden Coulson have been sent back to their parent clubs.
Kilmarnock winger Jordan Jones begins a two-match ban.
The winger has agreed to accept the suspension after he was accused of diving to win a penalty against Dundee last time out.
Ross Millen is also banned for the Buddies clash after being sent off in the Reserve League Cup against Hearts but Kirk Broadfoot returns after missing the Dens Park triumph with a back spasm.
