Newcastle fan turfed out of Sunderland’s game

Sunderland vs Shrewsbury

After back-to-back relegations from the Premier League and Championship, Sunderland have finally found their comfort zone.

The Black Cats are flying high in the third tier of English football.

After playing 13 league games Sunderland currently sit 3rd in the table, one point off second spot with a game in hand.

They have won seven, drawn five and lost one in the league this season.

Sunderland's latest victory came on Saturday as they travelled to Shrewsbury.

Shrewsbury sit 18th in the table so a Sunderland victory was to be expected.

It would take Sunderland a while to break the deadlock, but they would eventually take the lead in the 58th minute thanks to an Omar Beckles own goal.

Luke O'Nien would double Sunderland's lead in the 84th minute given his side a 2-0 victory.

Newcastle fan invades Sunderland game
Perhaps the most interesting news coming out of Saturday's game, however, was that a Newcastle fan was thrown out of the Sunderland game.

Several images are doing the rounds on Twitter that show the fan in question being escorted from the stadium.

Given Newcastle were playing at the same time as Sunderland on Saturday, it is quite puzzling that a Newcastle fan would choose to watch Newcastle's rivals.

However, given Newcastle's awful start to the season, the fan in question may not have been keen on watching his side lose once again.

Newcastle took on Brighton on Saturday as they went in search of their first league win of the season.

But Newcastle would lose 1-0 and have now failed to win in nine league games.
