Southport will hope Bolton loanee Liam Edwards is fresh enough to start their FA Cup clash with Boreham Wood.
The Bolton defender impressed in his Southport debut in Saturday’s 4-1 National League North victory over Kidderminster.
The 22-year-old backed that up with a composed half in Tuesday’s 6-0 thrashing of Clitheroe in the Lancashire Challenge Trophy.
The Bolton star came off at half-time though, with one eye on being fully fresh for Saturday’s cup encounter.
Bradley Ash will be back in contention for Boreham Wood this weekend.
The 22-year-old striker has been recalled from his loan spell at Weston-super-Mare and goes straight into contention for the FA Cup encounter.
Ash hit two goals in six appearances for Weston in his short loan stint.
But now he should bolster the Wood front line for the FA Cup first round clash.
