Dover fall off a cliff at Bury

Bury cruised into the second round of the FA Cup as they saw off the Vanarama National League’s bottom side Dover 5-0.
In the first ever meeting between the two sides, Bury had far too much class for an Athletic outfit who are 38 places below them in the pyramid.
The hosts broke the deadlock after 12 minutes. Callum McFadzean’s cross from the left deflected kindly into Jay O’Shea’s path, and the midfielder calmly slotted home from 10 yards.
Danny Mayor scored a wonderful goal to double the lead soon after, gliding past at least two Dover challenges before beating Mitch Walker from just inside the box.
It was 3-0 when Byron Moore tucked home underneath Walker’s body after latching on to Nicky Maynard’s smart pass.
Soon after the restart, Bury skipper Neil Danns missed a clear opportunity as he failed to punish Moussa Diarra’s poor clearing header.
Moore made it 4-0 in the 64th minute, hooking home Danns’ cross from close range.
Substitute Dominic Telford made it five in stoppage time with a composed finish.
