Guiseley seal FA Cup upset in seven-goal thriller

Non-league Guiseley stunned League Two opponents Cambridge, scoring four goals before the hour to enter the hat for the second round of the FA Cup for the second successive season.
The home side, who play in National League North, withstood a spirited late fightback by the visitors to claim their place in the draw, Kingsley James’ strike proving the difference.
The Yorkshire side were certainly not overawed and took the game to Cambridge from the outset – none more so than midfielder Will Hatfield. He unleashed a thunderbolt from 25 yards into the top corner to open the scoring.
They doubled their lead shortly before half-time when Cliff Moyo got his cross wrong but Cambridge goalkeeper David Forde misjudged his angles and it looped over his head and in.
Guiseley shot out of the blocks after the break and when Kaine Felix was afforded too much space in the area, he plucked the ball out of the air and drilled home.
United were falling to pieces now, Moyo poking a ball through to James, who steered past Forde from six yards.
Then, Jabo Ibehre pulled a scrappy goal back and George Maris curled a great strike in.
The home fans were biting their nails when Ibehre poked home his second and Cambridge’s third in injury time, but it was too little too late.
