Bayern set to turn down chance to sign James Rodriguez on permanent deal

James Rodriguez's ankle ligament damage has come at the worst possible time for the Colombian, who has struggled for minutes this season, with the revelation in the press that Bayern Munich do not plan to exercise their right to buy him out right.
Kicker have said that the German giants are not looking to make the loan deal from Real Madrid permanent, which would cost them 42m euros, and it means that the player would return to the Spanish capital next summer.
Bayern are looking to rejuvenate an ageing squad and Kicker say that the club board are ready to invest 200m euros for this restructuring. They would rather spend this money on emerging talent like Pavard or Eintracht forward Luka Jovic rather than James.
It is a big blow for James, who suffered the injury last Tuesday in training, and he had been working hard to win his place back in the team.
