Wenger has been out of work since leaving Arsenal at the end of the 2017-18 season.

During his time off, Wenger has been linked with a host of jobs across Europe, including the Real Madrid hot-seat.

Premier League strugglers Fulham tried to acquire the 69-year-old’s services but were knocked back before appointing Claudio Ranieri as Slavisa Jovanovic’s successor.

Wenger isn’t keen on managing in England again due to his 22-year spell with Arsenal, during which he won three Premier League titles and seven FA Cups.

According to the Telegraph, the Frenchman keen on managing one of Europe’s elite clubs so he can end his legendary career with more silverware.

And he’s said to have firmly set his sights on managing Bayern, who are rumoured to be interested in snapping up the out-of-work manager.

Multiple reports in Germany have claimed the Arsenal legend is on Bayern’s list of candidates to replace current manager Niko Kovac, who has overseen the club’s worst start to a season since the 1994/1995 campaign.

Pressure has been mounting on Kovac for weeks and increased this past weekend after his side blew a 3-1 lead to strugglers Fortuna.

Wenger is said to have rejected a multitude of offers during his six-month sabbatical, which he recently revealed he’s ready to end.

"I believe that [I'll] start again on January 1, I don't know yet [where I'm headed]. I am rested, and I am ready to work again," he said.

"Thanks to my 22 years at Arsenal, I have big experience on different levels.

"There are enquiries from all over the world."

Although he’s keen to manage again, Wenger has admitted he could join a club in a non-managerial role.

"Well, it can be in different ways,” told beIN Sports on a possible return to football. “It can be straight away as responsible for the result of the next game.

"It can be as well in managing a club from a little bit behind the manager.

"It can be as well as a technical responsibility in world football, with an international company. It can be in different ways.”
