Alex Samuel snatches Wycombe victory

Wycombe’s Alex Samuel scored a stoppage-time winner at Accrington – their first victory over the Reds in 12 league meetings.
Samuel fired home in a crowded area to snatch a 2-1 win in the first minute of time added on, but Stanley only had themselves to blame for wasted chances.
They took the lead in the 15th minute when Jordan Clark and Billy Kee both had shots blocked before Sean McConville fired the ball home for his seventh of the season.
Accrington could have extended their lead but for the heroics of on-loan Birmingham goalkeeper David Stockdale.
He did superbly well to keep out a curling effort from Sam Finley, pushed away a Billy Kee strike and, when the Reds did beat him on the stroke of half-time, Kee’s shot hit the underside of the crossbar and bounced into Stockdale’s arms.
Wycombe, who had won four of their last six league games, did not really test Stanley goalkeeper Connor Ripley in the first half as they were limited to long-range efforts.
And Accrington were made to pay for not taking their chances when Dominic Gape played the ball into the area and sub Scott Kashket drilled the ball home.
Then came Samuel’s stoppage-time heroics as Wycombe leapfrogged Stanley into 10th place.
