Northampton’s O’Toole closing in on return to fitness

Northampton boss Keith Curle is hoping to have midfielder John-Joe O’Toole available soon as the Cobblers close in on a return to full strength.
Town welcomed back Matt Crooks and Dean Bowditch against Crawley last weekend after more than a month without the duo and O’Toole is also on the recovery trail.
The 30-year-old has been missing since last month’s defeat to Newport but is not set to be out for much longer, although it remains to be seen if he will be available to face Stevenage this weekend.
Curle said on his club’s website: “It’s great to have Matt and Dean back and if we can get John-Joe back as well we will have real competition for places.”
Stevenage have striker Kurtis Guthrie available again for the trip to the PTS Academy Stadium, where Boro will be looking to end a run of five defeats in their last six games.
The 25-year-old has missed the last three games through suspension after being sent off in the 4-0 defeat at Bury but he has now served his ban.
He could be an option to replace either Alex Revell or Ben Kennedy up front, with those two having drawn a blank in last weekend’s 1-0 home loss to Lincoln.
Fellow forward Danny Newton, who made a second-half appearance in that match following a three-match absence, will also be hoping to make boss Dino Maamria’s starting line-up.
