Defensive duo Joe Wright and Niall Mason will miss Doncaster’s Sky Bet League One clash against Oxford this weekend.
Wright has been sidelined for the last six weeks with an ankle injury, while Mason’s broken toe rules him out ahead of the visit of the U’s to the Keepmoat Stadium.
Rovers boss Grant McCann has been given a boost ahead of the fixture by the news Herbie Kane will remain with the club until the end of the season.
The 20-year-old midfielder, on loan from Liverpool, has been a star performer recently, scoring six times in his last eight games.
Oxford boss Karl Robinson has named the same line-up for the last five league matches so may decide to rotate his players ahead of the hectic festive schedule.
Tony McMahon, Luke Garbutt, Charlie Raglan, Sam Smith and Armani Little all pushed their claims in the 3-0 Checkatrade Trophy win over Tottenham Under-21s in midweek.
But John Mousinho, Curtis Nelson, Jamie Mackie, Josh Ruffels and Marcus Browne could be restored to the starting line-up after missing out on Tuesday.
Oxford have lost just once in their last 15 matches but are yet to win on the road in League One this season.
