Pogba came on with 15 minutes to go against Arsenal but failed to make an impact and could not help his side find a winner.

Then against Fulham and Liverpool, he did not even make it off the bench.

But Pogba was selected in training by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer yesterday in a likely starting line-up to face struggling Cardiff.

And he was Poggy in the middle when he boarded Manchester United’s plane yesterday — between interim chief Solskjaer and his assistant Mike Phelan.

A fresh face in the hot seat means a fresh chance for Pogba to rediscover his best form which he has tended to save for international duty since returning from Juventus in 2016.

While Pogba is expected to return, Romelu Lukaku is out of the game in South Wales.

The Belgium striker has been away from the club this week on compassionate leave. He will not face Neil Warnock’s side and could also miss the visit of Huddersfield to Old Trafford on Boxing Day.

Young midfielders Angel Gomes, 18, and James Garner, 17, have also travelled to the Welsh capital.
