Cesc Fabregas is expected to feature in what could be his Chelsea farewell against Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup third round on Saturday.
The Spaniard, who has won two Premier League titles with the Blues, has been heavily linked with a move away from London, with Monaco reportedly leading the chase.
Olivier Giroud (ankle), Pedro and Willian (both hamstring) are unavailable, but Callum Hudson-Odoi is fit again following a hamstring injury and could start.
Eden Hazard could be rested, at least to the bench, but Ethan Ampadu is anticipated to be involved.
Forest have problems in defence as they look to spring a surprise at Stamford Bridge.
Michael Hefele is likely to miss out after he suffered an Achilles injury against Leeds on New Year’s Day, while Tobias Figueiredo will only feature if he has recovered from a dead leg.
Michael Dawson (hamstring) remains out so midfielder Claudio Yacob could be used in the centre of defence having dropped back into that position against Leeds after Hefele went off.
Top scorer Lewis Grabban remains a doubt after the 15-goal striker missed out on January 1 with a slight injury.
