Preston North End vs Swansea City - Pearson back for Preston after ban
Posted Thursday, January 10, 2019 by PA
Preston’s Ben Pearson is available to play against Swansea after completing a four-match ban.
Pearson was sent off for the second time this season at Sheffield Wednesday just before Christmas, and boss Alex Neil says the midfielder returns to Sky Bet Championship action with a point to prove.
Declan Rudd and Alan Browne will be restored to the starting XI after dropping to the bench for the FA Cup defeat to Doncaster.
Jayden Stockley, Josh Ginnelly, Brad Potts and Connor Ripley are likely to feature in the matchday squad for the first time after joining the club this month.
Swansea’s sickness bug has cleared to provide manager Graham Potter with more selection options at Deepdale.
Oli McBurnie, Wilfried Bony, Jefferson Montero, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Declan John and Joel Asoro all missed the FA Cup win at Aston Villa through illness.
But all six players have taken a full part in training this week and will make the trip north.
Swansea are still without Tom Carroll (hip), although the midfielder is expected to resume training on Monday, and the only other absentee is long-term casualty Martin Olsson.
