Pavel Nedved Is Still Playing Competitive Football At The Age Of 46

14 years after winning the Ballon d'Or, those famous blonde locks of Pavel Nedved are still going strong at the age of 46.

Nedved, who hung up his boots at the end of the 08/09 season after making 247 appearances for Juventus, came out of retirement last year, playing alongside his son at Czech amateur club FK Skalna on a weekly basis.

Rather fittingly, he started his youth career at Skalna, joining the club at the age of five to then go and play at youth level for eight successful years.

Back in September, FK Skalna announced the signing of Nedved on their official Facebook page, complete with pictures of him signing on the dotted line.

They confirmed that they had signed the player, but because of his duties at Juventus vice-President, the Czech club are unsure when Nedved will be able to make his debut.

He did, however, make his debut a month later in a 4-1 win.

Nedved had a spectacular 18 year career in football, making 91 appearances for the Czech Republic, while playing for Juventus, Lazio and Sparta Prague.

The Ballon d'Or winning midfielder is rightfully considered to be one of the greatest of his generation and he's also lined up with his fair share of world class teammates, including Alessandro Del Piero, Lilian Thuram and Gianluigi Buffon.

What a player he was.

Do you think Nedved deserved to win a Ballon d'Or? What is your favourite memory of the blonde haired magician?

Let us know your thoughts in the comments.

It's great to see this legendary figure on the pitch, still enjoying his football at the rip age of 46.
