REYES A GLASS Sergio Ramos’ ex Elisabeth Reyes is former Miss Spain now married to Cadiz star Sergio Sanchez

ELISABETH REYES finally got her man at the third time of trying - after swearing never to date another footballer.

The 32-year-old, who won Miss Spain in 2006, eventually married former Malaga star Sergio Sanchez in 2014.

But it was only after bad experiences with two other La Liga players, Sergio Ramos and Alexis Ruano.

Reyes became famous in Iberia after he pageant win, going on to become a model in magazines and on the catwalk before appearing in a number of TV shows.

For a whirlwind nine months in 2007 and 2008, Reyes dated Real Madrid icon Ramos.

But in a recent interview, she admitted that the relationship was too quick - and the couple were too young.

"We were... too intense in such a short period of time.
"By wanting to live everything very quickly, we spent a lot of time together and that's not too good.

"Especially two young people like us."

The pair split up with Ramos, who has gone on to win the World Cup, two European Championships, four Spanish titles and the Champions League five times, dating a string of beauties.

He now has three kids with model and TV presenter Pilar Rubio.

Elisabeth then moved on to Alexis Ruano, who played for Getafe at the time but went on to star for Valencia, Sevilla and Alaves.

The couple endured a bad break-up and Elisabeth vowed never to date another footballer.

"Never again will I have a footballer boyfriend," she said in a glossy Spanish magazine.

But it didn't last long.

The former Miss Spain apparently met Sergio Sanchez in 2012, while she was taking a break from Alexis and staying at her friend's house.

That friend happened to be the ex-wife of Sanchez.

Speaking later that year, Elisabeth said: "Maybe I am inconsistent, but this is a matter of the heart and I cannot lie to my heart.

"I love him, and now he is my lover."

After two years of dating, a wedding - featured in Spanish Hello! magazine - took place and the couple had a daughter, Adriana.

Elisabeth has also followed Sergio across Europe while he was still in his playing prime.

The former Spain Under-21 player, who had heart surgery while at Sevilla, had spells with Panathiaikos in Greece and Rubin Kazan in Russia, before returning to Spain with Espanyol and Cadiz.

The model admitted that she found it tough being away from family while in Russia and is much happier now they are back in Spain.

And the secrets to their marriage?

There is no secret, just love and respect. We're happy," she said.
