Manchester United lock horns with the French champions in the first leg of the Champions League last 16 at Old Trafford.

But with a mouth-watering FA Cup clash against Chelsea to follow then Liverpool in the league, Martial says the stage is set for his United and France team-mate to take the leading role.

"Paul has a huge amount of quality. He is one of the best midfielders in the world and that is what he is showing," said Martial.

"And I think he will do even better in the next few matches."

Pogba has been instrumental in United arriving at tonight's task on an unbeaten run of 11 matches in all competitions.

Martial says credit should also go to interim manager Gunnar Solskjaer who has freed them to play to their strengths after feeling restricted by Jose Mourinho's style.

"We have got a coach who has different intentions and we are trying to do what he asks," he said.

"Perhaps it is easier to play this style of football and not the style of football the last manager asked.

"When our new coach came in he had a lot of confidence, a lot of determination, that was really helpful.

"We are trying to pay him back in kind and things are working out well at the moment. We hope they will continue against PSG."

If United extend their Champions League run deep into the knockout stages Martial believes it will boost Solskjaer's chances of getting the job full time.

But the forward said that ultimately the players will not decide his fate, adding: "Obviously things are going really well, we are really happy to have him here and we hope we can continue but the final decision isn't with us."

PSG will be without three of their stars with Neymar, Edinson Cavani and Thomas Meunier missing through injury.

But forward Julian Draxler said that PSG have plenty of firepower still to unleash on United and maintained they can put the shackles on Pogba, too.

"I've known Paul for a long time and I have played against him for Germany against France and sometimes we have managed to stop him," he said.

"He is a top player with lots of qualities. Nevertheless we will see what he does tomorrow and we have some top players too.

"United will attack but you cannot forget we also have a second leg in Paris so it is not all or nothing at Old Trafford."
