A blistering start to the second half earned Wrexham a 3-2 win at Havant and Waterlooville as they moved to within two points of the top of the Vanarama National League.
Trailing at half-time to Joe Quigley’s penalty, the visitors struck three times in the opening 15 minutes of the second half to record their third straight win.
Results elsewhere made it a particularly good day for Wrexham, with leaders Solihull Moors drawing and Leyton Orient, who started the day in second, losing.
Bryan Hughes’ side moved one point clear of Orient and are now just two behind Solihull, with a game in hand.
Quigley’s spot-kick after 15 minutes, following a foul on Wes Fogden, put the hosts in front, but Wrexham were a different side in the second period.
Shaun Pearson headed home a corner two minutes after the restart and Akil Wright added a second in the 58th minute, smashing a shot home.
James Jennings fired in the third two minutes later after a fine Ben Tollitt pass to complete a dramatic turnaround.
Alfie Rutherford pulled one back for Havant to ensure a tense finish, but Wrexham held out to seal victory.
