Liverpool ace to Barcelona?

Liverpool ace Roberto Firmino would be the perfect No.9 for Barcelona, according to Paul Mariner.

Firmino has struck just nine times in 26 Premier League games so far this term but has also contributed four assists.

And Mariner believes it is the Brazilian's link-up play that makes his the ideal foil for Lionel Messi and co.

The former Arsenal forward was asked on ESPN who Barcelona should look to sign as their next striker.

And he replied: "The way that they play, Firmino.

"I know it will upset all the Liverpool fans.

"Look at what he does, look at the link ups. He's fantastic.

"Firmino for me does it all. He's tremendous."

Arsenal situation 'frightening'

Arsenal allowing Aaron Ramsey leave for free in the summer is "frightening", according to former midfielder Steve Sidwell.

"The Aaron Ramsey situation is just frightening," Sidwell told talkSPORT.

"They've backed themselves into a corner with the wages they're paying Ozil – and even that saga was a strange one – and they've got to let him [Ramsey] go now.

"They're slowly becoming a selling club where their best players are leaving, and if they don't buck their ideas up they are really going to fall short of top-four football."

Man Utd plotting Koulibaly bid

Manchester United are planning a £90m bid for Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly.

According to The Sun, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sent his chief scout Jim Lawlor to run the rule over the Senegal international in last weekend's 0-0 draw at Fiorentina.

Old Trafford bosses are reportedly prepared to smash the world-record transfer fee for a defender - beating the £75m Liverpool forked out for Virgil van Dijk.

Koulibaly is pleased with the mounting interest in his services, saying: "I am pleased that many teams follow me.

"But I want to demonstrate on the field I am at the level of the greatest and I want to show it in the future."

De Ligt to Arsenal?

Arsenal have entered the race to sign Ajax defender Matthijs De Ligt.

According to The Sun, the 19-year-old rising star is a huge admirer of the Gunners.

Unai Emery has been handed a £40m budget ahead of the summer transfer window - short of Ajax's £70m valuation for De Light.

But it is claimed Emery can boost his transfer budget to that figure by qualifying for next season's Champions League and offloading Mesut Ozil.

Real Madrid eye Chelsea pair

Real Madrid are looking to sign Eden Hazard and N'Golo Kante from Chelsea in the summer.

According to the Sunday Express, Bernabeu bosses are confident of securing Hazard, who is stalling on a contract extension at Stamford Bridge.

It is claimed they also believe they can beat PSG and Barcelona to a deal for Kante.

The midfielder is reportedly considering his future because he is not happy about being changed to a box-to-box role under Maurizio Sarri.
