JURGEN KLOPP is happy for Brendan Rodgers to return to the Premier League - as long as he doesn't want his house back.

The Liverpool boss has been renting the Northern Irishman's house in Formby since he replaced him at Anfield in October 2015.

Former Reds boss Rodgers has quit Celtic ahead of a £6 million move to Leicester.

And Klopp has expressed his relief that the 46-year-old will not be moving back into his Merseyside mansion.

He said: "As long as he is not going to Everton then I'm fine, because if it's Everton then he wants his house back!

"Leicester is not close enough that he will move to Formby."

When quizzed about Rodgers taking over from Claude Puel, Klopp said: "What can I say about that?

"They have to clarify between the clubs, then Brendan and Leicester.

"Probably not an easy situation for Celtic, but if it happens then wherever he goes I wish him obviously luck, because he's a good guy."

Klopp has maintained a healthy relationship with his landlord, but he did call him out before a charity match in September.

Before he went head-to-head with Rodgers, he said: "It will be fun for sure. Especially because I meet my landlord, I think for the first time since he left Liverpool and I came here.

"We have a lot of things to talk about.

"The plumbing issue, electricity, the pool and stuff like that. So Brendan, hope you are in good shape and we can sort a few things that day."

And in December, Rodgers claimed he wanted Klopp to stay in charge at Anfield because of the rented house.

He said: "Jurgen rents my house. I want him to be there as long as possible."
