Parents In France Banned From Naming Their Child 'Griezmann Mbappe'

If England ever win the World Cup, then Harry and Raheem may become the most popular names in the UK.

Meanwhile in France, authorities have stopped one family from naming their son after two World Cup winners.

There can be any number of reasons why our parents decided to name us the way they did.

There have been people named after famous sports stars over the years, one family in England named their son after all the Burnley players in the team in 2011, naming him Jensen 'Jay Alexander Bikey Carlisle Duff Elliot Fox Iwelumo Marney Mears Paterson Thompson Wallace' Preston.

Can you imagine the influx of baby names in England ever got their hands on the World Cup? Nurseries would be full of baby Gareth's, Fabian's and Trent's.

So you can hardly blame one couple in France for deciding they wanted to name their child Griezmann Mbappe after the country's success in Russia in the summer.

However, French authorities challenged the name, flagging up with prosecutors that the name could cause harm to the child in the future.

The family court judge, after analyzing the file, decided to delete the first names from the civil status register, according to RTBF.

Last year, a family in France were stopped from calling their child Jihad.

They argued that the word had no violent meaning in Arabic but authorities were worried about the effect it would have on the child's life.
