JURGEN KLOPP has heaped praise on Tottenham hitman Harry Kane and his Spurs team-mates ahead of this weekend's showdown at Anfield.

Liverpool welcome Spurs to Merseyside on Sunday as they look to return to the Premier League summit.

The Reds will have to be wary of Kane, who has wreaked havoc with Klopp's backline in the past.

And it appears the German may have paid special attention to the England forward in his build-up to this weekend's clash, judging by his lavish praise for the striker this week.

Klopp said: “Harry Kane – what a striker!

“He is so good that I have to say that one defender alone against him is very difficult.

“It's always like this with world-class strikers. You have to avoid the passes to him.

“You saw the penalty last season – and there were two reasons for that.

“He wanted to be the Golden Boot winner and he didn't want to waste any opportunities.

“I really like him. He's just a fantastic player. Hopefully you won't see why I like him on Sunday, but it's the truth.

“I respect how Harry came up. His career is fantastic. Going on loan - I think there's one picture where Jamie Vardy and Harry Kane are sat together on the bench for Leicester.

“So Harry did it the hard way. It's not like he came up at 18 years old as a talent.

“He has had to improve day by day and it is very difficult to play against him.”

Kane is battling Liverpool pair Salah and Sadio Mane, Manchester City's Sergio Aguero and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of Arsenal for the Golden Boot.

But Klopp knows that Mauricio Pochettino's entire team is dangerous, not just Kane.

“If you defend against Kane, then Christian Eriksen shoots from 50 yards or whatever," he added.

“Dele Alli is in the box and makes a little header or Son (Heung-min) runs in behind.

"So it's not just about Kane. What a team. Goalie - outstanding. Full-backs - outstanding. Centre-backs - really fantastic.

“In midfield they have Eriksen. Harry Winks is a fantastic young English talent. They have Alli, they have Son. It's an unbelievable team.

“And if nothing works, they bring on Erik Lamela and everything changes again.”
