BENJAMIN MENDY has put his Manchester City career in further jeopardy after being filmed in a nightclub at 3.30am.

The French World Cup winner is fit again after a long layoff with a knee injury - but was not included in the squad which travelled to Fulham on Friday.

Benjamin Mendy was spotted partying in a nightclub in the early hours of Sunday morning

Hours later he was pictured enjoying a night on the town - although he was not breaking any curfews.

And it is understood Mendy reported to the City Football Academy for his training on Saturday as instructed.

However the late night is unlikely to impress his manager Pep Guardiola - who has already indicated he will look for a new left-back this summer.

Asked about the incident, the City boss said: "They are old enough to know what they have to do, I'm not his father.

"I would prefer him to go home earlier but I don't control the players in that situation.

"I'm not frustrated. I'm a relaxed guy. It might not look like it but I sleep quite well."

Mendy, 24, has started only 16 matches during an injury hit two years since making a £49.3million switch from Monaco to City.

He has featured only once since mid-November and that came in the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg over Burton - when his team were already guaranteed a place in the final.

In September he was in hot water for reporting late for training after going to watch an Anthony Joshua fight at Wembley.

Guardiola originally had no plans to spend on a new left-back this summer - but has recently changed his mind due to Mendy's continued injury problems.

Leicester's England defender Ben Chilwell is believed to feature prominently on his summer wish-list.
