The 'Lays' Advert Broadcast During Half-Time Break Of Man Utd vs Barcelona Is So Ironic

It was a night to forget for David de Gea and his Manchester United teammates, who were dominated by Barcelona in the quarter-finals of the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Never has the saying 'men against boys' been so fitting. Lionel Messi ran the show, Philippe Coutinho scored one of his trademark curling strikes from range and the rest is history.

If the 4-0 scoreline wasn't enough, goalkeeper David de Gea featured in a particularly ironic advert during the half-time break.

The Spaniard fumbled Messi's weak strike in the 20th minute, giving Barca a 2-0 advantage heading into the second half.

And not long later, de Gea was made a fool of once again when one of his 'Lays' crisps was stolen from the five-time Ballon d'Or winner.

The fact that this was the opening commercial following the first half coverage just rubs salt into the wounds.

Irony...

It was a cruel second goal to concede for Manchester United, who looked to be on the front foot early on.

Marcus Rashford hit the bar in the opening minutes of the game, while Scott McTominay fluffed a chance in the box.

But Barcelona dominated after Lionel Messi's brace and head into the Champions League semi-final as one of the favourites.
