Liverpool moved one point above rivals Manchester City courtesy of goals from Georginio Wijnaldum and James Milner.

Their victory means that Liverpool need Manchester United to beat City on Wednesday to put them in the driving seat in the title race.

Earlier in the day on Sunday - Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men suffered an embarrassing 4-0 defeat at Goodison Park, something that Klopp mentioned after his side's win.

He said: "It doesn't look like at the moment that Man Utd can really...

"What was the result today? 3-0? 4-0?

"So we'll see, City will be ready and we'll see if United are ready as well.

"It's a normal game, it's a game they have to play, we played there and had a draw.

"But we play on Friday and that's the game we have influence on."

Liverpool have three games remaining in the Premier League this season; Huddersfield at home, Newcastle away and Wolves back at Anfield.

Klopp revealed after the game that he wasn't feeling any pressure at 0-0, despite Manchester City's win over Tottenham on Saturday.

"I only know about me and I didn't feel it [the pressure] we have to do it like we do it," Klopp told BBC Sport.

"It was prepared to be a proper banana skin and we knew that, the boys were unbelievable. It was clear, difficult for all of us.

"The weather changed and made it much more intense.

"We knew we had to stay patient and do the right things. It was very dry on the pitch so passing was not very easy.

"The boys didn't get frustrated, we had wonderful chances in the first half but we knew if we continued we would have chances.

"Their attitude is outstanding and it's a tough season but a very positive one as well."
