Paul Pogba has been linked with a view to Real Madrid - but there are claims the squad in Spain are not too keen on his arrival

REAL MADRID stars are split over the prospect of Paul Pogba joining them in the summer, it has been claimed.

Pogba's future at Manchester United is in doubt amid suggestions he is becoming difficult to manage.

Real Madrid appear to the be the club best placed to snap him up if United are willing to sell the £89m star with Zinedine Zidane understood to be a big fan.

But reports in Spain suggest the Real dressing room is split over whether they want to see the French World Cup winner arriving over the close season.

El Chiringuito TV say players at the La Liga club are questioning the attitude and effort of Pogba, 26, having seen similar complaints come out at United.

It is suggested that while some in the club are keen on him joining, others have raised concerns about whether he should be regarded as a top player.

And the report goes on to say that while the prospect of signing Pogba is not too attractive to the players, there is far more enthusiasm about the chances of Eden Hazard arriving.

Chelsea star Hazard has been a long-term target of Real and Zidane, and the squad believe he is a world class talent who would be welcomed with open arms.

Three months ago United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was talking openly about building his side around Pogba as the club enjoyed an improved run of form and results.

But as the club's season has faltered over the past six weeks, so the claims questioning Pogba's influence on the side have resurfaced.

United are aware they need to embark on a major overhaul of their squad this summer if they are to seriously have any chance of competing in the Premier League next season.

But as yet no decision has been made as to whether Pogba should be kept or sold to help finance some of the rebuild.

And while perception of the former Juventus star's displays has been negative, he has still enjoyed the best goalscoring season of his career with 13 goals.

And he was also voted onto the PFA team of the year - the only player not playing for Manchester City or Liverpool.
