Arsenal mocked after glitzy light show before Valencia clash… in broad daylight
The light show commenced as players lined up before kick-off

ARSENAL have been trolled by fans for putting on a glitzy light show before the win over Valencia - while it was still broad daylight!

The Gunners wanted to welcome the players onto the pitch in style for the Europa League semi-final tie.

Arsenal informed supporters before the match that a "light show" would commence before kick-off, so they arrived with high expectations.

Reusable plastic bags were even left on each seat for supporters to hold above their head to create a mosaic.

Lights flashed and music echoed around the Emirates stadium as the players made their way out of the tunnel.

But there was one huge problem - it was not dark outside so the light show was barely visible.

Fans on social media could not believe their eyes and a number of fans inside stadium refused to hold the bags in the air.

One said: "Light show at Arsenal earlier tonight got upstaged by another light show... the sun."

Another added: "The light show before the Arsenal match didn't really work - I think the club forgot the clocks had changed. Bright blue sky and sunny - couldn't even notice the lights."

While one said: "It's still completely daylight out. Without the OTT music tonight it's pretty hard to tell there's even a light show happening at the Arsenal. What is even the point?"

And one fan mocked the club's poor attendance as he posted: "There's a light show at the Emirates and there is about three people in the stadium."

Arsenal's shocking start to the evening continued when Mouctar Diakhaby gave Valencia the lead after just 11 minutes.

But Alexandre Lacazette scored twice before Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's last-gasp strike sealed the 3-1 win for the Gunners.
