DAVID DE GEA has been given a week to decide his Manchester United future.

The Spain keeper, 28, has been offered a new contract — and United want an answer before the end of the season.

Talks over extending his terms beyond next year have hit deadlock, so it is now down to De Gea committing or running down his deal.

Paris Saint-Germain are waiting to swoop if De Gea fails to put pen to paper, with the French giants willing to match his market value of £350,000-a-week in wages.

They will pile on the pressure with a summer bid for De Gea, as they know he will leave on a free transfer within 12 months.

Boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that De Gea will start against Huddersfield today, with No 2 Sergio Romero ruled out with a knee injury.

But the former Atletico Madrid keeper’s form has taken a dramatic dip while his long-term future at Old Trafford has been unclear.

In December he told team-mates he was more likely to stay at the club than leave — but there has been no agreement on fresh terms.

And during United’s poor run of form in the last two months he has been guilty of errors against Barcelona, Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea.

The backdrop to his poor form has been the uncertainty over where he will be playing next season.
