JURGEN KLOPP insists he is not a failure when it comes to winning trophies.

Klopp will look to win his first Champions League crown in Madrid tomorrow when Liverpool take on Tottenham in a what promises to be an epic clash.

The Reds will be looking to make up for last season's final defeat to Real Madrid in Kiev.

Klopp and his men were left crushed when Real cruised to a 3-1 triumph.

But Klopp has more incentive than most to come out on top in the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.

The German has lost his last six finals with both Borussia Dortmund and the Reds.

He has won just one of seven - the German Cup in 2012 -and is forging a reputation as being a managerial bridesmaid but never the bride.

But he has hit back and insisted he doesn't have a problem in the biggest games of all.

He said: "Since 2012, apart from 2017, I was with my team in a final.

"Sometimes by luck, but in the last seven years I am world record holder in winning semi-finals. I'm a normal human being.

"There can be moments that are unlucky and lucky, but I cannot change that.

"I understand luck as if you work for it then you get it from time to time."

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino will be experiencing his first European Cup final and Klopp admits he has huge respect for his rival.

He added: "I respect a lot what Pochettino did - he had a talented group and how they improve together is really impressive. I like that."

"But if Ajax had been in the final it would have been deserved as well. It's a real football final, now both have to deal with that because it makes the game pretty intense.

"We're really looking forward to a proper game I'm sure."
