Neymar is currently with the Brazilian national team in Teresopolis as they continue their preparations for this summer's Copa America, but a police car made an appearance at their training base as they summoned the Paris Saint-Germain forward to testify in court on Friday.
This comes after Neymar published, via Instagram, intimate conversations and photos of the woman who accused him of rape on May 15.
Globo Esporte report that the police spent 45 minutes inside the Brazil camp as they got Neymar to sign the subpoena. The Selecao are facing Qatar on Thursday and on Friday, they are travelling to Porto Alegre to face Honduras on Sunday, so the player could request a postponement to this date.
The case emerged after a woman, whose identity is unknown, denounced the alleged violation by the 27-year-old. Neymar reacted by revealing all of the content from his conversations with the alleged victim, but on Monday he took this off of his social media accounts.
However, despite Neymar having taken down the conversations, the police had already opened an investigation parallel to the alleged violation which has looked at how he disclosed private information without the consent of the alleged victim.
The Brazilian website UOL Esporte, who broke the story about the alleged incident, have provided details of the conversations between the two. According to this same outlet, the alleged victim provided images of the PSG star acting aggressively before committing a crime in a hotel on May 15.
