CHELSEA have reached an agreement with Juventus over Maurizio Sarri, it has been claimed.

The Italian is set to leave Stamford Bridge to take over at the Serie A champions.

Sarri was successful in his first season at Chelsea, finishing in the top four and winning the Europa League.

But the former Napoli boss was an unpopular figure among many Blues supporters because of his style of play.

And Sky Sports in Italy now claim Chelsea have reached an agreement with Juventus for Sarri to take charge.

Derby manager and Blues legend Frank Lampard is the favourite to succeed Sarri at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea are currently banned from making transfer for the next two windows.

And Lampard is seen as a figure who would bring stability to the club and would immediately have the backing of fans.

If the Derby boss is appointed his first Premier League match would be a showdown with Manchester United after fixtures were announced on Thursday.

One man that thinks Lampard is ready for the Chelsea job despite just one year of managerial experience is Harry Redknapp.

"He just is [ready], he knows the game, he’s a very clever guy, a bright boy. It’s all about players, good players," he explained.

"If he comes here it’s going to be hard, they’ve got a transfer embargo but there’s lots of good young talent here.

"He knows the kids, if Jody [Morris] comes here with him, he’ll know the kids. We will see whether the young players they’ve got here that everyone talks about are good enough, because he would give them a chance.

"They keep going out on loan and doing well, stick them in and let’s see what they can do. I think there’s every chance that Frank would do that.

"He’s got experience here in the team, he’s got other players around them with experience, four or five of the kids coming in, they’ve all gone out on loan and done well, done a good job. So why not play them, give them a chance.

"Now’s the time. If Frank gets offered it, it’s all about timing. I know you can turn it down it may never come again."

Redknapp also thinks Lampard's work ethic will set him aside from other managers.

"[He has] Determination to be successful, nothing is going to stop him. He is very single minded and he’ll work all day and night to be successful," Redknapp added.

"If the players train half as hard as he did, he’s the best trainer I have ever seen in my life, I have never seen anything like it.

"He was incredible at the training ground, every day practice, practice, practice. If the kids here do the same and take that on board it can only benefit them.

"He has been here done it, what hasn’t he done for Chelsea. No-one can question what he’s done or what he’s been. And he knows the game. There are no secrets in the game, you just need a bit of common sense and good players.

"And if he can get the best out of them kids and get the blend right, I’m sure it can be a good team."
