Real Madrid are increasingly confident of cashing in on James Rodriguez

James Rodriguez will be a Real Madrid player again this summer after his two-year adventure at Bayern Munich has ended, but he isn't expected to stick around for long and the player's impressive performances at the Copa America will help Los Blancos to cash in on him in the summer transfer window.

The Colombian played a part in the 2-0 win over Argentina in the opening round and assisted Atalanta's in-form forward Duvan Zapata with a sublime pass to clinch a 1-0 win over Qatar.

It's Duvan's own former club Napoli who are the current frontrunners to sign James, with Carlo Ancelotti keen to work with him again.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis wants to sign the playmaker on loan for 10 million euros, with a compulsory purchase option of 40m euros which would be paid in June 2020.

But Real Madrid aren't expected to accept that offer as they want money now.

They need to earn big this summer to fund their own signings, and 10,¡m euros isn't enough for them.

Napoli wouldn't want to make the signing until June 29 at the earliest anyway, due to Italian tax laws.

Even in the case of Napoli's move falling through, Real Madrid can expect interest in the Colombian, who is enjoying the best form he's shown in recent years.
