ARSENAL fans have taken to social media to question why Petr Cech has not bid farewell to the club he represented for the last four seasons.

The legendary goalkeeper hung up his gloves at the end of the Gunners' most recent campaign.

Boss Unai Emery somewhat controversially handed Cech a start in the Europa League final, which ended in a 4-1 defeat to his former club Chelsea.

In the lead up to the game, rumours swirled that the 37-year-old had already agreed upon a deal to return to Stamford Bridge in an advisory role.

And earlier today, Chelsea indeed unveiled him as their new Technical and Performance advisor.

Cech was quick to tweet his appreciation at being handed the prestigious role by the Blues.

"I feel very privileged to have this opportunity to join @Chelseafc again," he wrote.

"And help create the best possible high level performance environment to continue the success the club has had over the past 15 years..."

But some Arsenal supporters felt disrespected that Cech had not sent any message of thanks to his former employers.

One wrote: "Cech played his last game for us a month ago, he’s very active on Twitter, yet not one brief post saying thanks or farewell.

"That’s all I’m going to say."

"Not even a goodbye or thank you to Arsenal and the fans?" asked another. "Well, good luck in your new job."

"Finally am unfollowing you snitch," ranted a third. "Should have never played in the Europa final!!!"

"Everyone knows he doesn't care about Arsenal," moaned another.

"He went to us to earn some easy cash, nothing else."

But other Arsenal fans were more worried about incoming transfers, or the apparent lack of them.

"Literally couldn't care less if I'm honest," added another Gooner. "Far more concerned about our lack of transfers."
