Man Utd settle on David De Gea replacement this transfer window - but it's not Jan Oblak

Manchester United could lose De Gea this transfer window, with the Spain international having just a year on his current contract left to run.

The 28-year-old is understood to be on the radar of Ligue 1 giants PSG, while Serie A titans Juventus have also emerged as potential suitors.

Manchester United would, ideally, like to keep De Gea but know they risk losing him for nothing if he does not move on this summer.

So far, many reports have linked Atletico shot-stopper Oblak with a move to Old Trafford as De Gea's replacement.

The Slovenia international is supposedly open to a move to United amid fears over the competitiveness of Diego Simeone's team.

Many United fans would like Oblak, who has established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in world football.

But the Daily Mail claim that, if De Gea goes, United want Lille's Michael Maignan.

Maignan starred in France last season, keeping 15 clean sheets as the club finished second in the Ligue 1 table.

United are reportedly keen to sign the £30million-rated star if De Gea jumps ship for a new challenge elsewhere.

But everything hinges on whether or not their current No 1 signs a new contract - or leaves for pastures new.

Maignan is seen as the goalkeeper best-placed to become France's main shot-stopper after Hugo Lloris.

But Arsenal have also been linked with the player in the wake of Petr Cech's retirement.

Former United star Danny Higginbotham, meanwhile, wants to see De Gea and Paul Pogba stay at the club.

"I think with De Gea, they need to be doing everything to try to keep him at the club," he said.

"Lukaku, I think from Solskjaer's perspective he'll look at it and think 'where does he fit into the system that I want to play?'

"Paul Pogba, I know a lot of people have given him a lot of negativity during the season and after what he came out and said last weekend but if you can get him to stay at Manchester United and be happy, he would be the type of player I would build the team around.

"But you have to have the players around him to allow him to go and express himself."
