Lemina, who has admitted he would be open to leaving Southampton, is wanted by United and Arsenal.

It comes with both Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Unai Emery keen to overhaul and freshen up their squads.

Southampton left Lemina out of their squad for a pre-season training camp in Austria.

And The Times report that United have been given permission to speak to the Gabon midfielder.

It's been claimed that United could pick up the Southampton man for around £15million.

Arsenal were originally interested in Lemina back in 2017, when he was at Juventus.

Lemina has also been used as a centre-back, full-back and even a winger and his versatility could be key for Solskjaer.

The Norwegian wants to improve Manchester United after a disappointing sixth-placed Premier League finish.

He has already added Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka to his squad.

Lemina is 25, though unproven at the highest level and struggled with injuries last season.

He made only three appearances after December with Leicester also believed to be keen.

Arsenal are keen and made a step forward when it comes to securing transfers by bringing Edu back to the club.

The Brazilian, who was part of Arsenal's Invincibles, has returned to become the club's first technical director.

"Arsenal has always had a special place in my heart and I'm thrilled to be returning to this great club," Edu said.

"We have a strong squad and some very talented young players with fantastic people at every level.

"I'm looking forward to helping make a difference."
