ARSENAL have launched a two-year loan offer for Juventus defender Daniele Rugani, according to reports.

The Gunners have twice been in the hunt for the Italian star and could now make their move amidst a defensive crisis, say Gazzetta dello Sport.

Arsenal considered a move in 2015 and in 2018 and now Raul Sanllehi could mastermind yet another amazing deal.

Rugani has been down then pecking order for years now thanks to the likes of Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci, despite being thought as one of Italy's top prospects.

Now, with the arrival of Matthijs De Ligt, Rugani, 25, stands to lose even more minutes and could be keen to move - after playing just 15 times in the league last season.

The only difference this year is that Juve are more likely than not hoping to ship the centre-back out on loan to get him some first-team footall.

The Serie A champions are unlikely to want him to leave on a permanent deal due to the advancing age of Bonucci and Chiellini and therefore see him as one for the future.

TIME IS RIGHT

In 2015, a source close to Rugani told Sport Witness: “Of course, if Arsenal or other important English clubs want to buy him with the right offer, the player will be more than happy to move.

“He has the skill, physique and perfect attitude for the Premier League and will be very happy to play in the United Kingdom for top English teams.”

And just last year, Rugani's agent revealed: “Daniele is doing well, he’s happy.

"Arsenal? They didn’t make an offer, but they did show their interest. We respect Juventus.”

New Juve boss Maurizio Sarri is overseeing a massive summer overhaul.

Not only has De Ligt joined, but also Aaron Ramsey, Adrien Rabiot and Gianluigi Buffon amongst others.

Meanwhile, Romelu Lukaku could be joining from Manchester United, with Paulo Dybala heading the other way.

Arsenal are also thought to be interested in yet another Juventus ace, Sami Khedira, with the German spotted at the Emirates earlier this week.
