MANCHESTER UNITED are willing to meet Paulo Dybala’s wage demands.

Manchester United are in talks to sign the player in a swap deal which would see Romelu Lukaku join Juventus.

According to The Times, Argentine star Dybala is not central to Maurizio Sarri’s plans in Turin and he is open to offloading the play-maker to make way for Lukaku.

The Belgian striker had long been expected to join Inter Milan this summer having fallen behind Marcus Rashford in the Old Trafford pecking order under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

And the same report claims that Dybala wants a post-tax salary of roughly £10million a year in order to make the move to United, who do not have Champions League football to offer the 25-year-old.

That equates to around £350,000-a-week, which would make him one of their highest-paid players alongside the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Paul Pogba and David de Gea, who is expected to earn similar money once he signs a new long-term contract with the club.

Though Dybala is said to be happy in Italy, he is unlikely to be satisfied with a bit-part role under Sarri and the prospect of becoming key to Solskjaer’s United side could appeal.

And according to European transfer expert Alfredo Pedulla, United are willing to meet Dybala’s demands to try and tempt him to the north west of England.

Pedulla tweeted: “#ManchesterUnited has offered #Dybala 11 +bonus.”

That would be a marked improvement on his current pay-packet with Juve, where Dybala is understood to currently earn around £7m (€7.5m).

Tottenham have also been linked with the former Palermo attacker but it looks as though United are in pole position to bring him to the Premier League.

The Daily Mail claim Dybala’s Juve team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo has even advised him to join United.

Ronaldo spent six years with the Red Devils earlier in his career and their report claims the duo have spoken via WhatsApp, with the Portuguese superstar telling Dybala he could be a huge success in Manchester.

Having snapped up Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka already this summer, Dybala could become Solskjaer’s third addition of the summer.

But United are also closing in on Leicester City defender Harry Maguire while Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes is another who has been tipped to join the club.

Reports on Friday afternoon claimed that United have agreed an £80m deal for Maguire, who could undergo a medical to complete a move this weekend.

The 26-year-old centre-back will become the most expensive defender in world football, eclipsing the £75m deal Liverpool paid for Virgil van Dijk in January 2018.

United have so far spent around £70m on James and Wan-Bissaka, although a deal for Dybala is expected to be a straight swap without any cash exchanged.
