JURGEN KLOPP says Alisson’s injury “doesn’t look too good” after the goalkeeper was subbed off during the 4-1 win against Norwich.

The only downside to a dominant start to the Premier League season for Liverpool was the blow to keeper Alisson.

The Brazilian hit the deck after taking a goal kick late in the first half and sustained a calf problem.

Klopp’s side were 3-0 up thanks to an own goal and strikes from Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk.

Former West Ham shot stopper Adrian, who signed for Liverpool earlier this week, made a surprise debut from the bench.

Former West Ham shot stopper Adrian, who signed for Liverpool earlier this week, made a surprise debut from the bench.

“That means it is probably a bit more than a strain so we will have to see and make a diagnosis.

“It doesn’t look too good but Adrian, we brought him in for instances like that. He’s good for us in possession and his calmness helps us a lot.

“It’s all good but we have a little problem with our No 3 Caoimhin Kelleher and a few of the young ones too so we will have to have a bit of a rethink.”

After Alisson was replaced, Divock Origi added a fourth by heading home Trent Alexander-Arnold’s perfect cross on the stroke of half-time.

Norwich came out much better in the second period and Teemu Pukki pulled a goal back after being played onside by Andrew Robertson.

However, Klopp refused to criticise his defence who afforded the Canaries 11 shots on goal.

“It is something you have to work on but we had a difficult pre-season,” Klopp added.

“I think we did really well in the last two games for the pre-season that we had.

“That’s all we have to worry about. There’s a lot of space for improvement but a lot of things were there tonight as well.

“In the next game, it’s a different game against Chelsea, we have to defend really well. I liked our last line today, we were much higher and there was a lot of offside situations.

“The main problem today was the reaction on those second balls.

“We won all the headers but didn’t win any second ball in the first half and that kills you.”"
