ARSENAL defender David Luiz ostensibly left one member of Chelsea staff in tears after completing his switch to Emirates Stadium.

The £8million deadline day move shocked Blues fans as Luiz departed Stamford Bridge for a second time in his career - this time after a three-year stint.

The 32-year-old was adored in west London for his passion and plucky playing style.

And it seems Chelsea medical director Paco Biasco was reduced to tears after the Brazilian’s exit.

In a clip captured by Arsenal's media team, Luiz told Gunners medical director Gary O'Driscoll: "Paco’s amazing. He’s crying, he’s crying.

"He called me crying. I have a great, great relationship with him."

There were some suggestions Luiz had an acrimonious relationship with Chelsea boss Frank Lampard, stemming from their playing days, but the Englishman tried to put that to bed.

"We had some conversations over the last week, honest ones, and the conclusion was that he should move on,” he said.

"It’s a position that I have a lot of competition. Everyone has to understand that. He has moved on and we wish him the absolute best, because he has been a big part of our history.

"There wasn’t any strike. No fall-outs, just honest conversations. As a player I want that as a manager, and I think I got that from David. Him not training was a decision I made as I felt that was best at the time.”

Luiz won the Champions League, Premier League, Europa League (x2) and FA Cup (x2) while at Chelsea and posted an emotional message on social media upon completing his London switch.

"Today is the day when I must thank all the people who were part of my story with @chelseafc!!!” he wrote.

"These were brilliant years where I always tried to do my best all the time!!!

"I thank the fans and all the coaches I had during the seven years I represented the club.

"I thank the medical and technical staff, the kitchen staff, friends who take care of the pitch, my friends from security... LITERALLY everybody!

"With each one I had a story and built a true friendship!!! I wish a very good luck to this great club!!!

"I carry all of you in my heart!!! God bless you so much! #Thankyou.”

Luiz is expected to start for Arsenal against Newcastle on Sunday afternoon as Unai Emery’s new-look side begin their 2019/20 Premier League campaign.
