Danny Guthrie could miss Walsall’s Carabao Cup first-round tie with Crawley.
The former Liverpool and Newcastle midfielder was absent for Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Forest Green due to injury.
Striker Caolan Lavery may make his first start since joining the club last week, having played 16 minutes as a substitute at the weekend.
Boss Darrell Clarke has the option of promoting midfielder James Hardy and forward Rory Holden to his starting line-up after the pair made an impression in the second half against Rovers.
Crawley striker Mason Bloomfield is a doubt after an ankle issue saw him replaced at half-time in Saturday’s 2-0 win over Salford.
Midfielder Nathan Ferguson, having scored Town’s second goal, also came off with a knock and will need to be assessed.
Defender Lewis Young sits out the second game of a three-match ban following his red card on the opening day of the season.
Summer signing Ashley Nadesan has returned to training after an ankle injury and could be finally handed his debut.
