Batshuayi's time at Chelsea

Michy Batshuayi joined Chelsea in 2016 for a fee believed to be around £35m.

Batshuayi scored 23 and assisted 10 in 53 appearances in his final season with Marseille.

However, since his move to England, the Belgian has struggled to regain said form.

Batshuayi has made just 53 appearances for Chelsea in his three-year stint with the club, scoring 19 goals in that time.

After failing to hold down a regular starting spot at Chelsea, the now 25-year-old has had several loan spells while at Stamford Bridge for Borussia Dortmund, Valencia and Crystal Palace.

Batshuayi staying put this summer

Batshuayi had a decent second half of the 2018/19 season on loan at Crystal Palace.

In 11 Premier League outings for the Eagles, Batshuayi scored five times.

The forward has since returned to Chelsea under new boss, Frank Lampard.

However, in Chelsea's first three competitive games of the season, Batshuayi has yet to feature.

He instead looks to be the Blue's third-choice striker behind Tammy Abraham and Olivier Giroud.

While the English transfer window slammed shut on August 8th, the European window is still open.

With Batshuayi seemingly set for another season of limited game time, the striker may have thought about leaving for a European side.

However, according to the Evening Standard, Batshuayi wants to stay and fight for his place at Chelsea.

But the report from the ES does also mention that should Batshuayi consistently find himself on the sidelines over the next four months, he is expected to consider his future.
