Gerard Pique wants Neymar to snub Real Madrid and return to Barcelona.
Barcelona defender Gerard Pique wants Neymar to snub a move to Real Madrid in favour of returning to the Nou Camp.
Representatives of both Barcelona and Real flew out to the French capital to try and seal a deal for the Paris Saint-Germain star.
It is thought the Brazilian is keen on returning to Barcelona, whom he left two years ago for a world record ï¿¡200million fee.
And Pique hopes the 26-year-old will sign for the Catalan club before the September 2 European transfer deadline.
"We know Neymar is a great player, and not only a great player, he is a great team-mate," Pique told Express Sport while at PokerStars' European Poker Tour [EPT] in Barcelona.
"I hope he comes here with us to Barcelona but also Real Madrid is another big club.
"It is normal that they are interested in trying to sign him.
"I don't know man. Let's see what happens this week.
"Everything is speculation. Let's see at the end if he arrives here or not."
Meanwhile, Pique finish in second place in a ï¿¡22,555 (€25,000) buy-in event to take home a healthy sum of ï¿¡318,364 (€352,950) at the EPT Barcelona.
And the former Manchester United centre-back explained how he tries to use his experience of playing football when sat at a poker table.
"I try to be focused for a long time and keep your concentration up," he said.
"At the end of the day, a little mistake can cost you a lot of chips at these kind of tournaments.
"Physically you have to be ready also. You need to eat food and sleep well and make sure you are 100 per cent.
"There are similarities but one you are running and another you are sitting down at a table.
"Most of the skills you can use in a game you can use it here."
