Junior Brown could go straight into the Scunthorpe squad to face Carlisle on Saturday.
The full-back joined on loan from Coventry on Thursday and, with Lewis Butroid injured and Kgosi Ntlhe out of form, the 30-year-old is in line for an immediate debut.
Recent signing George Miller could push Kyle Wootton for a place in attack, where Lee Novak and Kevin Van Veen remain sidelined.
Ryan Colclough could step up to the starting line-up after returning from injury as a substitute at Macclesfield last time out, but Adam Hammill was left out of that game, with manager Paul Hurst suggesting the winger has played his last game for the club.
Carlisle manager Steven Pressley could make changes as his side seek a first league win since the opening day of the season, and a first in five games in any competition.
Harry McKirdy and Canice Carroll will be among those hoping to step up from the bench after impressing as substitutes in the Carabao Cup comeback attempt at Rochdale.
McKirdy won the penalty for Jack Bridge’s penalty and could replace Hallam Hope, who has been the subject of transfer speculation for much of the summer.
Youth-team midfielder Josh Galloway, who featured for the first time in pre-season, signed for Leeds on Thursday.
