Transfer news UPDATES: Neymar to Barcelona update, Sanchez Man Utd claim

Neymar saga over?

Neymar's hopes of joining Barcelona hang by a thread, per COPE.

The Brazilian and his family reportedly believe it is "almost impossible" for him to leave Paris Saint-Germain and rejoin his former club.

That is because Ousmane Dembele does not want to move to France as part of a cash-plus-players agreement.

The tranfer window closes on Monday night, with time running out if Barca are to complete a big-money deal.

Solskjaer on Pogba

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer kept it short and simple when asked about Paul Pogba's future today.

The Red Devils drew 1-1 with Southampton, Pogba playing the full 90 minutes at St Mary's despite picking up an ankle knock.

The Frenchman continues to be linked with Real Madrid, as he has all summer.

But Solskjaer shut the door on any possible transfer before Monday's deadline for the La Liga club to do business.

"Paul Pogba will be playing for us," the United boss said.

Elneny leaves Arsenal

Mohamed Elneny has joined Besiktas on loan from Arsenal.

The midfielder made 89 appearances for Arsenal after signing in January 2016.

He struggled to make an impact at the Emirates and has been deemed surplus to requirements by Unai Emery.

“Everyone at Arsenal wishes Mo all the best for his season with Besiktas,” an Arsenal statement read.

Ryan Kent latest

Steven Gerrard has revealed Liverpool are still yet to change their mind on Ryan Kent’s future.

Liverpool have blocked Kent from leaving the club on loan again after a successful season at Ibrox last term.

Gerrard is keen to have him back but the ball is still in Liverpool’s court.

“Nothing has changed on the Ryan Kent situation,” Gerrard said ahead of the weekend.

“We’d love to have him here but Liverpool’s stance hasn’t changed. So we move on and move forward. Unless we were to get a phone call on that one, it’s as it was.

“But everyone knows what we think of Ryan and how much we’d love to have him here.”

Fernandes' move to Tottenham blocked

Bruno Fernandes claims a transfer to Tottenham was blocked by Sporting Lisbon.

"As you all know, Tottenham made a lot of proposals for me. Everything was right with me - or practically should be,” Fernandes told GQ Portugal.

“I never made any big demands, my manager was always dealing with the financials. It was and is my goal to play in England, Sporting you know that, everyone knows that, and there were conditions for things to be done.

“But Sporting understood that the value was not enough and I have to respect the decision."

Monreal completes Sociedad switch

Nacho Monreal has completed his move to Real Sociedad from Arsenal.

The left-back departs after Arsenal signed Kieran Tierney from Celtic.

Monreal has agreed a two-year deal with the Spanish club and will be present on Monday.

Sociedad released a statement saying: “Real Sociedad and Arsenal FC have reached an agreement for the transfer of Nacho Monreal to the Txuri Urdin team. La Real, in turn, has reached an agreement with the player until June 30, 2021.”

Sanchez has a Man Utd future

Alexis Sanchez has a future at Manchester United, according to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Sanchez completed his season-long loan move to Inter Milan this week but Solskjaer claims he could be back in the fold next term.

Solskjaer said: "Definitely. This is a loan for a year.

"We expect them to be professional. Go there and represent Manchester United as well. We want them to do well."

Palace ready to sell Zaha

Steve Parish will let Wilfried Zaha leave Crystal Palace when his valuation is met.

The Palace owner stood firm when Arsenal and Everton came knocking this summer, and refused to sell for less than £80m.

He could still leave to a European team although looks likely to stay until at least January now.

And Parish has admitted he will sell him if the money is right.

“I’m sure it has a happy ending for everybody,” said Parish. “That’s what I want to generate and I’m sure we’ll make that happen.

“We’ve all been young, but the situation was not right for anybody this summer. You think at the time it is, but I wouldn’t put a cap on this kid’s talent.

“I’ve watched him every week for 10 years, he scored the first goal in the first game after we bought the club when he was 16. So there’s even a bit of me that wants to see what he can do at a top club, and I certainly wouldn’t want to be the person who stopped that.

“I feel he deserves to get there, I hope it happens and sometimes it mystifies me he’s not up there already. I don’t know what he’s got to do — run the length of the pitch and beat four players? If people stood in my shoes having to replace him, trying to find someone in world football to do what he does, they would know.”
