Ipswich may be boosted by Luke Garbutt return

Ipswich defender Luke Garbutt could return to the squad for the home game against Doncaster.

Garbutt, on loan from Everton, has missed the last four League One games due to a knee injury sustained in last month’s home draw against Sunderland, but was back in full training this week.

Defender Toto Nsiala and striker Will Keane are both closing in on a return to first-team action following respective hamstring injuries, but will not be in contention this weekend.

Forward Freddie Sears remains a long-term absentee as he works his way back from a long-term knee problem.

Doncaster striker Kazaiah Sterling is expected to be fit after recovering from a dead leg.

Sterling, on loan from Tottenham, was forced off at half-time during last week’s home win against Rotherham, but has since returned to full training.

Midfielder Madger Gomes is also likely to return to the squad after missing the last two games due to a knee injury.

Defender Joe Wright is still out with the knee injury that has kept him out so far this season.
