Richie Towell and Jack Baldwin are set to miss Salford’s home clash with Grimsby.
Midfielder Towell and defender Baldwin sustained injuries in the first half of Saturday’s defeat to Cheltenham, with the former leaving the field on a stretcher and needing hospital treatment following a collision.
Alex Doyle replaced Towell, becoming the first Salford academy player to feature in the English Football League, and is likely to start.
Defender Nathan Pond could return from a knock as Salford look for only their second League Two win of the season.
Grimsby will continue to monitor Matt Green.
The striker missed Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Oldham through illness and will be given plenty of time to prove his fitness.
Fit-again midfielder Jordan Cook is pushing for a start after coming off the bench and sparking the Mariners’ late comeback on Saturday with the first goal.
Forward Ahkeem Rose and defender Harry Davis are working their way back to full fitness.
