Dunfermline win Scottish Championship basement battle

Dunfermline climbed off the foot of the Ladbrokes Championship after beating managerless Partick Thistle 3-0 in the bottom-of-the-table clash at Firhill.
Thistle dismissed Gary Caldwell this week after less than 12 months in charge but the move did not bring the desired effect as Dunfermline ran out convincing winners to record their first victory of the season.
The hosts started well enough but found themselves behind in the 23rd minute when Kevin Nisbet turned in a low cross from Gabby McGill.
Nisbet nearly made it 2-0 with an effort that hit the crossbar but the Pars need not have worried as soon afterwards they did double their lead when Ryan Dow fired past Scott Fox.
The outcome was put beyond doubt in the 49th minute as Dunfermline added a third goal when Kyle Turner’s deflected effort looped over Fox.
