The Ter Stegen debate has dominated the headlines

Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness has withdrawn his threat to not allow the German side's players to join up with the German national team, having previously stated that they would be unable to do so if Marc-Andre ter Stegen usurped Manuel Neuer as the country's No.1.
The threat received a lot of criticism, while Germany's general manager, Oliver Bierhoff, noted that Bayern legally would not be able to keep hold of the players if their national team called them up.
Hoeness' previous comments came in Sport Bild, but the 67-year-old sent a statement to Der Spiegel to discuss his remarks.
"Immediately after our Champions League match against Red Star [Belgrade], Mr. Hoeness made statements about the goalkeeper position in the German national team that today he would not do again," the statement from Hoeness' office read.
"For him, the issue is settled and there will not be another statement from him."
