Signing a right-back is Barcelona's only priority

No players to join until next summer

Barcelona's only position that could be strengthened in the next calendar year would at right-back.

The Blaugrana's board and coaching staff are already keep a close eye on the transfer market, although they maintain that the squad is strong enough to compete until the 2020/2021 season.

No signings are expected to be made in the January transfer window as the Catalan side are confident that they brought in quality players in summer.

However, with Sergi Roberto being considered a midfielder by Ernesto Valverde, Nelson Semedo is the coach's first choice at right-back.

Moussa Wague is another player who could cover for the Portuguese, but the former Athletic Club tactician has yet to offer him playing time this season.

The 21-year-old is expected to get his opportunities in the Copa del Rey games, and should he convince his coach that he is a reliable back-up for Semedo, he could remain at the club.

Meanwhile, Barcelona are not eager to move for a striker in the upcoming transfer windows, as they believe that there are various players who could feature in that position, including Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann.

Young talents have also emerged onto the scene, with the likes of Ansu Fati and Carles Perez having covered for those who were injured in the opening weeks of the season.
