Barnsley caretaker Murray to check on fitness of forward Schmidt

Barnsley caretaker manager Adam Murray will take charge for the first time in the home game against Hull.

Former Mansfield boss Murray, who took on the role following the recent departure of Daniel Stendel, will make a late decision on Patrick Schmidt.

The Austria Under-21s forward returned from international duty unscathed, but sustained a knock in training on Thursday and will be monitored.

Defender Bambo Diaby (knee) is back in full training, but is not ready for match action and midfielder Kenny Dougall is also closing in on his return after recovering from a broken leg.

Swansea head coach Steve Cooper will have Kyle Naughton at his disposal after the defender was forced off during the 2-1 home defeat by struggling Stoke last time out.

The full-back limped out of the game with just 16 minutes gone after suffering a dead leg, but was able to resume training after a couple of days’ rest and is available for the weekend.

Winger Aldo Kalulu is Cooper’s only absentee as he continues his recovery from an ankle injury, and he is expected to resume training with the rest of the squad within the next two weeks or so.

The Swans’ international contingent all returned to the club unscathed leaving the head coach with options as he attempts to bounce back from a shock reverse at the hands of the Potters.
